Brand Voice for Coaches: How to Make AI Content Sound Like You

November 01, 2026

"Your clients don't need more content from you. They need content that sounds like you, built on what you actually believe, pointed at the one person you're best at helping."

That's the line I closed my video with this week, and it's the best way I know to describe a brand voice for a coach. If you want a brand voice using AI that holds up every single day, Claude has to read it before it writes. This post shows you the three parts of your voice and the file each one lives in.

Why AI content sounds like everybody else's

Ask Claude for a post with no setup and you get something that sounds like every other coach on Instagram. You've seen those lines. You've probably rewritten a few of them.

That happens because Claude has no idea who you are. It doesn't know your story. It doesn't know how you talk, who your dream client is or what you sell. So it asks general questions and then it guesses. When AI guesses, you get generic everything.

And generic content does not get leads. Your dream client has scrolled past posts like that a hundred times. Nothing in them tells her the post came from you, and nothing tells her it was written for her.

Posting more won't fix it. If every post starts from a guess, more posts just put more guesses in her feed.

The three parts of a brand voice for coaches

Look at that first line again. It asks three things of every piece of content you put out.

First, it has to sound like you. That covers the words you use, the words you'd never say and how you sound in different places.

It also needs to be built on what you actually believe. Your opinions about your niche are what make a post yours.

The last part is aim. Every post gets pointed at the one person you're best at helping, and she's described so well that she knows the post is about her.

Each of those is a job for Claude, and each one has its own file in what I call a coach brain. A coach brain is 10 files Claude reads before it writes a single word for your business. Three of them carry your voice.

The three parts of your brand voice. 1 Sounds like you, in Tone.md. 2 Built on what you believe, in Coach.md. 3 Pointed at one person, in Avatar.md. All three live in your coach brain, and Claude reads them before it writes a single word.

Part 1: Content that sounds like you

How you talk lives in a file called Tone.md. It answers questions like these. What words do you always use? What words would you never say? How do you sound in a sales email compared to a quick check-in text to a client?

You don't have to describe your voice from memory. Claude pulls the rules straight from real posts and emails you've already written. So the file starts from the way you already write.

This is the part of a brand voice coaches tend to think of first. On its own it gets you halfway. A post can sound like you and still say nothing your reader will remember.

Part 2: Content built on what you believe

Your story lives in Coach.md. It answers questions like how did you end up coaching? What did you walk away from to build this business? What is your message for the world?

Then it asks one more. What do you believe about your niche that other coaches would push back on?

That last one is gold, because your real opinions are what make your content sound like you instead of everybody else.

When Claude has your beliefs on file, every post can carry one of them. Without that file it falls back on the safe advice every coach in your niche already posts.

Part 3: Content pointed at the one person you're best at helping

Your dream client lives in Avatar.md, right next to your offer. An ICP is a very detailed picture of your dream client, what she's dealing with and how she feels about it.

The file answers who she is. What does her Tuesday look like? What does her morning look like? What is she quietly afraid of before she books a call? And what does she say in her own words when she describes being stuck?

Claude even searches Reddit and reviews for the exact phrases people like her use. Then it saves your offer beside her. That covers what it costs, how it's delivered, who it's for and who it's not for. It also covers what it provides, in what time frame and without what headaches.

When Claude knows her this well, it can write a post she reads as if you wrote it for her alone.

How to create a brand voice using AI that Claude reads every time

Those three files sit inside your coach brain with seven others. The first six files are about you and your brand. The last four are about how your business runs. Here's how to set it up.

Start with one folder on your computer called Coach Brain. Everything lives there. I open Claude in that folder every time I work on my business, so it reads the files before it writes anything. I prefer and highly recommend Claude Code for this.

Next, let Claude interview you. You don't have to write Tone.md, Coach.md and Avatar.md from a blank page. Claude can ask you one question at a time and write each file from your answers. With the Coach Brain Builder, all 10 files take about 45 minutes.

Then hand Claude your real writing. Give it posts and emails you've already sent, so Tone.md starts from the way you really write.

Keep passwords and logins out of every file. Not one.

Once the brain is in place, ask for content in plain words. A short prompt is enough when Claude already knows you and your client.

How to make AI sound like you every single day

Claude can write content that sounds like you every single day, but only if you give it a brain first.

Before you post anything Claude writes, check it against the three parts. Would you say it out loud to a client? Does it carry something you believe? Would your one person know it's about her?

If any answer is no, tell Claude what's missing and ask again. The files give it something real to go back to, so the second try starts from you.

Build the brain once

Years ago I shipped a coaching program on DVD to people in 26 countries. Later I built a software company to $60,000 a month in recurring revenue. Today more than 140 coaches run their business on Thrive Engine. Every automated system they run, from their daily content to their lead follow-up, runs from their coach brain.

Build the brain once, and every system you add after that gets better instead of more generic. Your posts, your emails and your lead magnets all start from the same files. That's how you get a brand voice using AI that stays yours, because every piece starts with what you told Claude about you.

You build your coach brain yourself, and it lives in your own folder. Your files stay yours.
