How to Train Claude to Write Like You: Correct It Once

If you want to know how to train Claude to write like you, start with what happens after you correct it. When I correct Claude, it fixes the post. Then it rewrites the file that caused the mistake, so that mistake doesn't come back.

That's how my coach brain gets a little smarter every single week. I never sit down to update my files. This post shows you how to set up Claude so every note you give it sticks.

Why your corrections vanish in a normal chat

At the end of my video this week I asked coaches one question. What's the one thing you're tired of explaining to AI over and over again?

Maybe it's a phrase that doesn't sound like you, or a link Claude keeps getting wrong.

You keep explaining it because every time you open a new chat, Claude starts from zero. The note you typed last Tuesday lived inside last Tuesday's chat. Today's chat has never heard it.

So the fix has to live in a file Claude reads every time.

What a coach brain is

A coach brain is 10 files Claude reads before it writes a single word for your business. The first six are about you and your brand. The last four are about how your business runs.

Everything lives in one folder on my desktop called Coach Brain. I open Claude in that folder every time I work on my business. Because the files sit right there, Claude reads them first and can rewrite them when I correct it.

I prefer and highly recommend Claude Code for this. It works right inside that folder, so it can open a file, change a line and save it while you keep working.

Three of the 10 files do most of the learning: Tone.md for how you talk, Lead Magnets.md for what you've built and Links.md for where every button goes.

How Claude learns from one correction

Here's how it works. Say Claude writes a post for me and slips in the phrase "crush your goals." I tell it, "I never say crush your goals."

Claude fixes that post. Then it opens Tone.md and adds the rule. The next post and the next email both start with Claude reading Tone.md. The rule is sitting right there, so the phrase never shows up again.

I gave that correction once, and the phrase hasn't come back.

This is how Claude learns from you through your notes. Each correction you give turns into a rule in a file. The file is what Claude remembers, so the file is what gets better.

Fixing the post by hand works for one post. Claude never sees that fix, so next week you're fixing the same line again. When the fix goes into the file, you only make it once.

Train Claude on your writing style with Tone.md

Tone.md is how you talk. It answers questions like these. What words do you always use? What words would you never say? How do you sound in a sales email compared to a quick check-in text to a client?

You don't start this file from a blank page. Claude pulls the first rules straight from real posts and emails you've already written. So on day one, Tone.md already starts from the way you write.

Then your corrections fill in the gaps. Each phrase you'd never say and each word you use all the time becomes one more line in the file.

Tone.md pairs with Coach.md. Coach.md holds your story and what you believe about your niche that other coaches would push back on. Your real opinions are what make your content sound like you instead of everybody else. Tone.md keeps those opinions in your words.

Every lead magnet gets logged

The learning goes past your voice. Every lead magnet I make gets logged in my Lead Magnets.md file.

That file is a running log of every lead magnet you've built. It holds each one's funnel, its tag and its follow-up name.

So Claude never builds the same thing twice inside your CRM. And it always knows what's already working, because the whole list is in front of it before you ask for the next one.

You don't fill this log in by hand after each launch. When Claude builds a lead magnet with you, the log gets the new line as part of the job.

Every link gets rechecked

Links.md holds every link you send people to. That's your opt-in pages, your booking page, your paid offer, your challenge and your socials.

Every button Claude builds pulls its link from this file. And every link gets rechecked, so the file stays current as your business changes.

If a link changes, you change it one time in Links.md. Every page after that uses the new link.

How to train Claude to write like you, step by step

You can set this up in your own business this week. These are the steps I'd follow.

Step 1. Build your coach brain once

Start with all 10 files. With the Coach Brain Builder, Claude interviews you one question at a time and writes all 10 files from your answers. It takes about 45 minutes. It even checks your brain at the end and tells you when you're ready to automate.

Step 2. Keep every file in one Coach Brain folder

Put the folder somewhere easy, like your desktop. Open Claude in that folder every time you work on your business, so it reads your files before it writes.

Step 3. Say the rule in plain words

When something sounds off, tell Claude the rule the way you'd say it to a friend. "I never say crush your goals" is a good example. It names the exact phrase, so Claude knows what to keep out.

Step 4. Ask Claude to put the rule in the right file

Words and tone go in Tone.md, a new lead magnet goes in Lead Magnets.md and a link goes in Links.md. You can add this to your CLAUDE.md once, so Claude knows to update the right file every time you correct it.

Step 5. Keep passwords out

Never put a password or a login in any of these files.

A brain, not a pile of notes

Claude reads your coach brain every time it writes, and it rewrites a file every time you correct it.

So the brain gets a little smarter every single week without me sitting down to update my files. That's the difference between a brain and a pile of notes.
